From March 18 2019, all landline telephone numbers in the Philippines with a Manila area code (02) will migrate from a seven-digit to an eight-digit subscriber format, in compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission directive.

This means that our Philippines GeoPlus Manila number will change from 02 555 5220 to 02 8 555 5220, note the additional 8 after the Manila area code 2. The full international format will be +63 2 8 555 5220

Local operators have made inhabitants of the Philippines aware of the impending format change. They have agreed to schedule the switchover for March 18 2019, and will update their platforms between 12am and 5am local time, during which time calling parties may experience downtime.

To summarise.

On March the 18th our Philippines Geo Plus number will change to +63 2 8 555 5220 (adding an additional 8).

Philippines residents should be aware of the change already.

Between 12am and 5am local time the number may be unreachable. If this is the case we recommend users dial our world wide number +44 203 1372688
